Lightstrike cushioning, an ultra-light TPU foam that encases BOOST foam, makes up the majority of the midsole. This delivers exceptional levels of energy return and feels very responsive underfoot. BOOST is used in the heel to provide soft landings and optimise durability. To enhance energy-return further, a CARBITEX carbon fibre plate sits directly under the foot. The multi-directional design of the plate has a very functional design, it flexes on landing and then snaps back on push-off. This aids forward momentum, propulsion and helps improve running economy.

To keep weight down further, the upper is made from Celermesh, adidas’ lightest and thinnest mesh. It features an internal grid to help lock down the foot to prevent movement. The gusset tongue comprises a foot hugging compression system that reduces pressure around key flexing zones. Ankle movement is also reduced by a heel pocket that hugs around the joint. Finally, the outsole has Continental rubber, to enhance grip, and Quickstrike DSP. This lightweight, injected outsole helps deliver smooth transition and great durability.

Shoe size is a personal preference and everyone’s feet are different, but we want to ensure you avoid any pain or discomfort from bruised toenails, rubbing, blistering or pins and needles. Your running shoes should have enough width to allow you to spread your toes and should have some space at the front (we recommend having a half to one thumb’s width of space from the end of your longest toe to the front of your running shoes). This usually means that your running shoe will be at least a half size bigger than your regular shoe size though this can vary from brand to brand.
